bought some pre wired relays in the following configuration

87a=starter side

30= ignition switch side

86= to 30

85= grounded wire from alarm

diode from 85 to 30, cathode side facing 30

how is this different from the diagram posted on this site, the one i use on all the installs i do. aside from the direct 12 volt connection.

That relay configuration will activate the starter kill when the alarm is armed "and" the key is in the crank position. It just uses the starter wire itself to activate the relay instead of ign or constant. This also means that pin 30 MUST go to the key side of the starter kill.

I use what comes with the alarm or what I am given. Doesn't make a difference to me, you are hooking up the ignition anyways and what is one extra wire.

your right on the extra wire your there already, right. i just bought the relays and sockets,$10.00 for 50 , and thought it was a good deal, since i hate when people bring me alarms they bought off of ebay and dont come with relays and they expect the kill switch, thanks again auex for your opinion.

got them locally at a alarm and mobile audio wholeseller, today i picked up 4 k9 classic car alarms for $45.00, and six psycho sirens model au-76mp for $5.00. i think they are trying to get rid of stuff cause their storage area looks like crap and all disorganized.
