I have a remote starter on my Montero sport. I hooked it up in tachless mode and it has been doing fine until recently. Somtimes it wont start on the first time . I think I know where the tach wire is (under the hood). There is a blue connector with one white wire in it .(looks like a test connector) on the driver side fire wall. I tested it with a meter set on ac volts and it would rise and fall from 1 to 6 volts. Based on engine speed. Is this the right wire? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance. Brianh

Yes, this is the right wire. Attach to the tach input wire of the RS unit and make sure that if there are any pin switches to be turned ON for the system to register a tach mode...... that you do it. Otherwise it will not work.

Thanks for the information Jeff. I thought that I had the right wire but I wanted to be sure. I'll hook it up this afternoon and see if it helps. Thanks again. Brianh
