I need some help please. 1996 GMC Jimmy.  I just installed a Designtech(I know, not the best) "Ready Start" system.  I have installed alarms before, and I am an auto tech by trade.   I went over my connections 4or 5 times.  When I put the fuse in the alarm gets power. starts going off, and the remote will not shut it off.  When it does finaly shut off I try the remote start and I hear the alarm module clicking like crazy(sounds like a turn signal is on), and thats it, it does'nt even attemp to start the truck.  The truck has keyless entry, do I have to bypass this somehow?  Thats the only thing I can think of that I am missing.

 Thanks

Sounds like the remote is not programed for the alarm.  Try turning on the ignition first then putting the fuse in the alarm.  Then see if you can reprogram the alarm remotes.

After you get the remotes working, double check and make sure you got both Ignition wires and tach wire hooked up. On another note, I have a friend at Frys Electronics and he's had several problems with Designtech alarms not working properly.

Here's a link for the wiring diagram
