I am having the hardest time I have ever had, trying to install an aftermarket tach in my 2001 tacoma.  I believe that a standard should come standard with a tach, but mine dosen't have one.  The dealership where i bought it said they do not know what wire to tap, and were not helpfull at all.   I anybody out there knows anything please respond.

All you have to do is look on ebay for an instrument cluster with a tach, with which ever motor you have. Plug it up and you are good to go.
