I didn't think it was necessary, but the Viper 791XV wouldn't unlock the door locks on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee. The locks works just fine. If it put it into 3.5 second mode and it wokred, but the locks were clicking after it locked. On the .3 second pulse it did nothing. There was negative coming out of it and negative on the wire, but nothing. I added a relay and it worked fine.

Is this normal?

Some vehicles will require a stronger ground when locking and unlocking.

Since I needed one for the lock, do I need to add one to unlock even though it is working?
