I had this resistance within 0.5% of the passlock 1 resistance and the damn thing wouldnt start.. it was 0.5% under so I tried another chain of 3 resistors and got 0.5% over (if memory serves me correct it was 796 ohms, my first try was 793, my second was 799, I got it to start twice.. like 1/10 times... Is there something special with these cars? I mean I was pretty damn close to the actual resistance and there was just no dice... I finally had to give up and pull it out and tell the customer sorry, its starter proof.. Most of the passlock cars i do are passlock 2.. that was the first 1 that I did this season... maybe out of 100 strs? (i work part time and go to college full time) anywho, i havnt had a problem with any other ones.. not this much of a problem...

why not save yourself a ton of grief and just use a learning module.... my god man, time is money.....

Don't get me wrong, I worked at CC a few years back and they make it a cake job.. but as for competing with the prices around here ($99 installed) its hard to use modules and meet the lowest prices... CC does NOT compete with the cheap starters around here...

I tried to use the Omega PASS23 module today. unit blinked 4 times as soon as you started the car with the key. but when i went ot remote start, it wouldn't work.
so i cut the yellow wire, measured a 1250 Ohm resistor when key was in the on position, and slapped a VATS-style relay on it with an 1130 Ohm resistor.
as for the self-learning modules saving time in money, it didn't save me a damn thing...costed me a couple of hours trying to figure out what i was doing wrong with the PASS23 module.

Sorry Guys... I'm not trying to hijack the post but I am having trouble withy the same car. This is my forst install. Putting in a ProStart CT3300. It is a remote start keyless entry. Used the bulldog 791 and all is well after a few hours. It starts well. The problem is that I can't get the keyless entry to work. Ny suggestions?

Nurseman, you do know that you have to change the polrity for this car, it has +12volt locks, and the r/s has - output for locks......... Craig

use 2 relays and convert - to +.... very simple.... or go out and buy a polarity inverter... we sell them for about 10 bucks
