What does everyone think about the pin switches that come with remote starters? Are they even worth putting in, when six months down the road they are all corroded and causing problems... What are some thoughts on this?????

i use them, theyre there for a reason, for corrosion i use all stainless steel and havent had a problem yet. just like the post on your battery you have to keep an eye on them once in a while.

Hey when they break the customer has to come back, which may be a chance for another sale. If not it's a 5 minute job to swap the pin. Safety and peace of mind wise it is a must have.
If your just an installer at a shop you could probably care less, but if you were an owner and see the liability involved you may think differently. Along with hood pins all of our remote starts come with stickers to place under the hood. Will those stickers hold up in court should a customer or mechanic get his arm cut up? I would think so, but who knows.
We recently has a customer come back that had the remote in his pocket while changing his oil. If you can't guess the car remote started while he was changing his oil. Luckily he wasn't hurt, but pretty pissed to say the least.
I see more of them have rust problems than broken ones. Anybody ever tried any type of anti-corrision spray or anything?
I also try to use the OEM hoodpins whenever the car has one.
