installing 791XV & 556U-W into my 04 Accord LX 4cyl. just want to check and see if there is anything I need to know/need before I start installing units. I have been installing DEI/Audiovox products for about 5 yrs now (4yrs at a MECP installer, 1yr at my shop). I am very familiar with DEI products and I know I can do it & get done right, I just like to know if there is anything anyone has experienced with similar installs that might stop me in the middle of install and make me have to order something else. by the way the Direct Wire diagram says factory alarm disarm & arm wires are in the driver side door. I think its refering to the EX models, am I correct? I've tried to set off my alarm (sitting in seat for 20 seconds & opening door), but doesn't do anything. I don't think it has an alarm, but maybe wrong. thanks in advance for any/all replies!!

Nothing big on that car but to set off those alarms..you should open the door...lock it by the switch...close it...then open it after about 30 seconds.

Vehicle is very easy to work on. Hardest part is getting the wires through the door boot for the OEM disarm wire at the door. Real pain in the arse.

Jeff, is right on getting the wire through the door boot being a pain! You will need to drill on the top part of the harness that connect the wiring into the door. I took some snap of running wire through the door boot if you are interest. shawn

thanks guys, I love working on Japanese imports all but RUNNING WIRES THROUGH THE DOOR!! oh well, I guess I'll just suck it up and do it right any ways. I guess I was wrong about not having alarm, huh, it wouldn't be the first time. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!

yes this will be the third post in a week. Just thought about this, installing 791XV into 04 Accord LX 4cyl. the vehicle has factory window roll-down with remote and roll-up/down with key in drivers door. I am thinking I can tap into the wires that run from driver side door key cylinder switch, am I right? If I am, where are the wires, inside door or can I get them inside car? what colors are they, and are they positive or negative? I feel like since it's a Honda, that they pulse the BCM/alarm with a negative pulse. thanks in advance!! ------------- Jon Ferebee

this car is an 04 Accord LX 2dr with the window roll-up/down option. The windows will roll-down with remote and roll up/down with key in the drivers door key switch. my question is can I tap into this system somewhere inside the car, if so where? or do I have to get into the door and tap into the key switch wires? has anyone tried this? If I have to add window modules I don't want to do it, but I have a feeling that I can get this to work. Thanks in advance for any/all replies.
