If the light is not flashing then its not a bypass problem. It sounds like a tach signal problem or starter kill,,,,, What model r/s are you using???

sounds like a bypass to me, the bypass on this car is a standard passlock 1 right? resister in the key? there should be two white wires, very small like 22 gauge might be wraped in orange, and you have to give these wires the same resistance (or within 7%) as the key when starting, these old passlocks shut off fuel to the motor without this, so it will start up for a second, then die because there is no gas.. that's what it sounds like to me, if your sure you have all the wires conected,  the only problem is that unless you have messed with these wires already the thing should start as long as you have the key in there, the only other thing i can think is that the thing is just not cranking the engine long enough, see if there is a setting to lengthin the crank time on the starter

Check your connection at the tach. May not be a good one.

I think this is a passlock 1 it has the 3 small wires running from the ing switch i cut the yellow wire & beared back the the black wire but when reconneting the yellow wire it will start with the key but will not start by remote even when leaving the key in the in the switch This is crazy ???????
