i got an alarm and for some reason it doesn't warn me that the doors are open the place that installed it said that my 4 door 2002 civic has 4 pin switches one for each door and the alarm has only 1 wire for the door sensors......if i open a door the alarm will go off but if i leave the door open and set the alarm it wont give me a warning.......soooo.....

i know the factory alarm or keyless entry knows when there is a door open so is there a way that i can tap into the keyless entry wiring there must be a wire in tha car that triggers when any of the doors are open....i dont think the civic is isolated...well anyways....

any of you installers work on 2k2 civic installing alarms ??? tell me what you guys do when you install alarms what wire do you guys tap into that detects the doors.....???

You would have to go to each door trigger and diode isolate each wire to feed into the single input wire. It's common not to do this and go straight to the dome light wire, in which case your alarm would give you an error chirp everytime you arm the system (because your dome light dies out slow). So what does the installer do? On one hand, do all that extra work on running wires and setting up a couple diodes, or turn off the error chirp on the alarm. In other words take it back they can fix it.

so you telling me all they gotta do is get all the pins for the alarm which are on the code list i seen on this site and use a diode so that they dont send error chirps back to the alarm hmmm.

The drivers door trigger is green, front passenger door trigger is lt. GREEN/ red, and the rear door trigger is GREEN / WHITE. Diode isolate each of these wires or delay the arming of the vehicle after the dome light goes off.

to diode is to isolate what and all you have to do is find those colors jeff said and connect each of them to a diode and then connect them to the one wire supplied by the alarm . if all doors trigger dome light thatn they should be on the same wire but i have not done any 2002s yet so i dont know, but the place or person who did it was not to go cause i would not let someone leave my place with the alarm not working the way it should be.
