I'm getting ready to install a Prestige APS786T into my truck. I need to know what kind of door locks I have though. The DirectWire Wiring Info shows that my truck has 5 wire door locks... but since I have factory keyless entry it should be..3 wire positive? I'm not sure. If anyone knows please chime in. Also, should I need relays for this?

what model of truck do you have , if you have a five wire reverse polarity then yes you will need relays.

It's a 2003 Mazda B3000 Dual Sport with factory keyless entry.

Here's the link I tried to post up there: 2003 Mazda B3000 DirectWire Wiring Info According to that page, it has 5 wire locks. However, I thought I read somewhere that vehicles with factory keyless entry do not typically use 5 wire systems.

Reading from your wiring info. You will not require relays. They are negative polarity so you can hook them up directly. This is what you should connect your lock and unlock wires to from your Prestige unit.
Power Lock pink / YELLOW - driver door harness or PKP
Power Unlock pink/lt. green - driver door harness or PKP

Thanks man. I'd like to keep driver door priority unlock, so which wire do I splice into for the 2nd unlock? Also, what are the lock motor/unlock motor connections on the wiring info for?

Do you have drivers door priority unlock with the current unit? If not, you will not be able to add this feature. Usually the connection are single pulse to open up the driver doors and second pulse to open up the rest of the doors.
Power lock/unlock are connected at the switch.
lock motor/unlock motor are connected directly to the motor unit. ------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

Yeah, the factory keyless entry has the priority unlock feature. I'd like to keep it. So do I just splice the 2nd unlock wire into the pink/lt. green wire that I'll be splicing the first unlock wire into?

"So do I just splice the 2nd unlock wire into the pink/lt. green wire that I'll be splicing the first unlock wire into"
NO, you only need to connect ONE unlock wire to the "Power Unlock pink/lt. green". I am not familar with your Prestige APS786T unit, but you should be able to program it so that you get the "the priority unlock feature". Check the Prestige installation guide and it will tell you how it's done. ------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

you might not beable to just do that, because when you tap into the lock / unlock wires of the truck you are taping into the same wires that are in your door, and most interior switches do not have drivers priority (you get what i mean? if you hit unlock on ur door inside, all of them unlock first time, right?) so you need to find the other wire or find the modual for the keyless system and get at the wires there, i'm not really sure were you would find that, i can't find anything that tells me, so you might just have to hit the lock unlock, find the relays for the doors and whip out the good ol' multimeter, good luck ------------- Bad Boys Customs

Looks like I'll a lot of multimeterin' ahead of me. According to the Prestige manual, I may or may not need to add a relay. Thanks for all the help.
