Im installing an Audiovox APS996A in my 2002 Honda Accord EX V6.  I have been able to find everything except for 1 wire.  Any help would be apprecited.

I have the 2 step unlock from the factory.  With the car locked/armed, if you touch the factory unlock button on the remote once, the drivers door only will unlock and disarm the theft system.  Pressing the unlock a second time within 5 seconds will unlock the rest of the vehicle.  I have found the re;ay module in the passenger side fuse pannel with no problems and isolated the orange wire for unlock/disarm and Blk/Blu wire for lock/arm.  The problem is, this does all of the doors.

I know there must be a way to isolate the ground input for the dirvers door only.  I mean, I can hear the same relay box click when I use factory remote for the 2 step locking.  Has anyone found the wire I can tap into so that I dont have to wire in a new set of relays?  The instructions with the audiovox unit show the wiring to put your own relays in but I would really like to use the factory ones.  There must be a way to use factory relay setup, I just cannot seem to isoalate it... I have been all over that fuse pannel an cannot find the darned thing.

Well the one wire you are looking for would be known as the driver's unlock motor wire. It is not negative trigger and to hook this feature up it requires a relay. The wire color you are looking for is going to be yellow on the EX and lt. GREEN/ red on the LX. You need to 5 wire this. So basicaly pin 85 first unlock output from alarm, 86 +12V, 30 motor side of unlock wire, 87A switch/factory relay side of unlock motor, 87 +12V.

This is exactly the method Im trying to avoid.

I dont understand why if the factory system has the relay inplace for this, there must be a way to tap into that????  I agree that your way would work but I really want to avoid adding a relay.

Am I wasting my time trying to figure this out, or do you agree that it must be possible?

Auex,

Thanks for the info.  As per our discussion, I cannot achieve this the way I want to do to the fact that the factory keyless entry module offers this 2-step unlock and there is no way to "tap in" to it.  I will use your recomended method above...>Thanks again.

- POSTED AS FYI for others...
