Being as I`m a cheap student, I want to bypass the passlock with relays. I`ve been everywhere on the net and I am finding conflicting info. The starter is a Prostart3360 what i`ve found so far. https://bulldogsecurity.com/New%20Wires/New%20Wires/Wires/checolorado04.htm https://www.internationalelect.com/vatts.htm The 2005 is a passlock2 I believe. Questions! What is my goal here? introduce resistance when cranking? and remove when running? Those diagrams confuse me a bit, and I think its because of the style of starter they are refering to. There are a number of usefull feature on this starter.. like ground while running (seems usefull enuf)
Also.. what is A 2nd ignition good for.. I cant think of an instance. PLs help a newb thanks Chris ===============

Yes you are actually sending a resistance when cranking only. Second ignition applies to vehicles that have just that, more then one ignition wires. ------------- Certified Security Specialist

I meant the second ignition on the remote starter.
The one here is programable. 2nd ign, acc, crank. also where do I get my 12v power from ? (for remote start and my relays.) Is there a big enuf wire to feed all this.. How much power does one of these sucker consume (relay) anyway? Thanks auex ==============================

Yeah that is what I meant, second ignition on the RS is for vehicles that have a second ignition. As for power, for the remote start relays use wire in the ign harness, as this wire is only fused at 10 amps from the factory. For the alarm and anything else you should go to the battery. Relays will consume approx 130mA, so not much power.

cool cool. So the second Ign is to power other circuts? where do these go? >I can think of some many more question.. I guess I will just take a look at the wiring.
Thanks again. Chris =======

Your vehicle doesn't require this, second ignition, so don't hook it up.

I don't know....40 bucks for a PLXR doesn't sound like a whole lot when you consider that its default setting is for a colorado...and takes an extra 3 minutes to wire in.....???? And it auto learns the resistance.... I understand being penny wise.....but not at the expense that it might leave you stranded... -------------

Actually.... there's an ignition, a 12V, a crank/resistance/keysense wire, an accessory, and a reference wire. The ECU cranks the engine when it sees the correct resistance applied to the resistance wire. Kinda neat, really. To bypass, you need two relays and a resistor.
