Here's my story. I took this system to an installer (Mobile Music, Mt Vernon Wa.) they had it for half a day and them told me they didnt have time to complete it so i resceduled, 3 days later i got it an at 9:30am at 2pm they told me to come get it cuz they couldn't get it working. Now no one will touch it so here I am doing it myself. They removed everything they did so I'm starting over.

Info.. 99 grand Cherokee, Autopage 855LCD. 455J & 556U modules.

Remote start is working fine so I would say the 556U has to be also  :-) . The doors lock/unlock and the alarm arms properly.

All I have left is the door trigger and the 3 second pulsed output from the 455J

Door trigger... Can I wire the interior dome light directly to the + door trigger of the 855 or do I need a relay? I am using the yellow wire at the driver floor light but it is giving me issues. I get 12V with the lights off and 0.2V with the light on. The brown wire at the same connecter is always hot. This confuses me imensly.

Will the dome light delay cause a problem when arming the system? (when I do get the door trigger working)

When remote starting the dome light does not come on. Do I still need the 3 second pulsed output from the 455J? What is the signal I should be getting from the BLACK/ white ( 3 second pulsed ) wire? Does it go hot after 3 seconds? I'm not seeing anything from that wire.

Is the dome light supposed to come on? during/after remote start.

When they gave me back the parts there were 2 relays in the box. It looks like they were trying to use them on my install. So far I have not used any external relays. Do I need to?

Thanks, Mark 8D

Mark, we just did that same vehicle this week at our shop with a DEI alarm/remote start combo using the same interfaces, with no probs - we are in Tacoma.
