you will need to get a matching remote to your system. The one with cut traces won't code hop

you can operate the second vehicle assuming it has the same remote unit in it and that you've learned the 1 remote to both vehicles.... keep in mind if both vehicles are parked close to each other when you start one the other will start as well.....
