2000 caravan / bulldogsecuity 500deluxe rs/keyless entry Doors lock w remote but no unlock. I have tries a 665 ohm resistor for alarm applications and the 250 ohm no alarm and neither works. It does have alarm as far as I can tell (but no transponder key) The unit does send a negative pulse.. any help here folks?

resistance for unlock for 2000 caravan is 2.0kohm.

thanks - will try that however the dodge manual gives 249 ohm w/o alarm and 665 with alarm. I will try the 2k you suggest tx hardwareman

And use relays to provide a solid ground for the multiplexed doorlock system. Over on the left in the blue bar, you will find various "how to's", there is a part for relays. You need to wire up 2 relays for negative output to drive the doorlock outputs properly.

Hey hardwareman, you are on the right track, but there is a problem. Here it is.

With alarm: Use a 665ohm resistor for the unlock pulse, and a 4020 ohm resistor for lock.

W/O alarm: Use a 249 ohm (I used 220 and it worked fine) resistor for unlock, and a 1.5K ohm resistor for lock.

The unlock pulse always need the smaller number ohm resister. oh, and I installed this just last week, so I know this works for sure. The 249 and 1.5k I used.

This system need 2 different resistors to operate, as it is a single wire system, and use relays for better performance.
