-i havent heard anyone does anything like that on this board nor even goes near diagnosting the anti-theft.
-you might want to take it to the dealer and see what they can do.

Are you sure that the ignition switch receiver has failed? The Snap-On tech tips Website has a great way to check the Passlock switch cylinder, ICM, and harness; simply with a DVOM. I had same problem. After I installed a bypass the car still would not start. Car was not driveable from Aug to Dec. Used Snap-On's tech-tip and came up with a diagnosis of "bad ICM ($300-1800) or bad harness (much less $)". Cylinder was probably OK (Passlock is famous for generating 'phantom error codes'). Two weeks ago, I mentioned this to a neighbor who coincidentally had the same problem. His dealer diagnosed as "loose connection" at 65 a lead bus connector. I found my connector(s), tightened, car starts fine. Clicked it together, car starts. Hope this helps. Depending on the dealer, he may find it and fix it. In the dealer's defense...you may really have a bad switch. But, if not, he'll replace the cylinder to the tune of $275 (US), plus towing, etc; then, if it fails again, he'll suggest replacing the BCM or ICM (very expensive). If you're handy try the test yourself (Radio Shack sells DVOMs very cheaply). If not, find someone who can do it for you. Hey, it beats spending $200-350. Passlock was a good idea with some very bad consequences. Good luck Newfie. BTW: Please support the site...before you get a broke as I am from "Passlock Battles".
