Hi,

Happy New Year.   I got my wife a remote car starter and would like to install it myself.  It's a Design Tech Airwolf/20096.  I wish I had spent more time looking, since this thing has more than she probably wants/needs and also seems to get mixed reviews... but we have it now, so I think I'll go ahead and use it.  I've gone as far as getting the wiring diagrams (thanks to this site), picked up the 3 relays I need for her car (1998 Dodge Caravan) and took the lower dash and kick panels off to see where the connections go.  Everything SEEMS pretty straightforward (probably isn't, though).  The biggest question I have is where and how exactly to physically mount the brain/control box ... and the relays.  They have mounting ears on them, but where do you normally attach them?... to the firewall (doesn't seem to be much room, especially on the driver side)? On the side kick panel (on the outside, into the plastic facia?... Probably dumb questions, but I guess it's better to ask.  Funny that I think I can handle the techie part of it, but I'm getting hung up on the cosmetic mounting issues).

Thanks in advance - Keith

Realistically, zip tied to a wire bundle under the dash. The best place for the alarm for security purposes is pretty much anywhere but under the dash.

Thanks for the response...  That sounds like a nice and easy way to do it.  I'm not using the alarm function anyway, so under the driver's dash is probably most convenient since it's close to all the connections I'll be making.  - Keith

Make sure it is not one of those kinds that requires vehicle to be armed in order to remote start. They usually are.
