Use a digital volt meter to verify the correct wires.

Just wondering if your refering to the 2 yellows in the IGN. harness?  One is the starter, and the other is the passlock R code . Just use your DMM

What should DMM read and under what conditions: key in and on?

The starter wire will read +12v when the starter is cranking the other is the Resistance for passlock II
