I have an amega rs-4lx add on remote start i want to install in my 2001 s10.  I need a negative pulse to activate the remote start and dont know where to get it from the factory keyless entry. any info would be awesome

some factory keyless entrys dont support or have this feature.

If the system honks the horn you may be able to grab the output of the factory alarm but you will need to do some probing. When you find the horn output wire, if you have one, verify it's polarity with your DMM. Now you'll need to convert the wire into a pulsed wire for only a second or two.

Try this- Your panic wire most likely comes on and off to pulse the horn. You'll need to convert to a single pulse each time you press the panic button on your remote. As we've all said before it's easier to just get a new RS/Alarm system that does it all. This diagram certainly isn't for the faint of heart and still may not work.
