i have an 03 explorer that is not working properly. after running for about 3 minutes by remote start, it will shut down and my alarm will show door open. i originally had the +door trigger wire hooked up to the BLACK/ blue dome light. since then i have found a yellow/black that will show 12v for about 5 seconds when the driver door is opened, and 0 any other time. i think this should work fine. since it is only one trigger i did not diode it, it does have the factory alarm and i have a - while running hooked up to the GREEN/ purple disarm wire. there are several of the same wire in the driver kick panel so i am not sure if it matters which one to hook up to. i could not find the four - trigger wires that are listed for the explorer. the r.s. is an innotek 2 way. i have installed many of these in many fords and other vehicles without any problems. any insight would be appreciated. thank you.
Heres a thread about door trigger, scroll down.
is the unit programmed for 3 min?

Try hooking back your Door Trigger to the BLACK/ lt. blue + driver kick panel.
"it does have the factory alarm and i have a - while running hooked up to the GREEN/ purple disarm wire"
Do you mean - ground out when running wire hook up to the disarm wire? If you got the - ground out when running hook up to the disarm then it's incorrect. Look for the disarm wire on the remote starter unit and connect that to the disarm wire GREEN/ purple.
Or do you mean disarm wire?
Check your hoodpin and make sure it is not lose and getting grounded.
The Factory Alarm Disarm wire is GREEN/ purple - driver dr harness or CSM

The CSM (Central Security Module) is below the passenger side C pillar.
If you don't have the correct disarm wire that can be one of the issue.

does it have to be a neg pulse in order to properly disarm? if so that is not how i have it right now. i have a neg while running. there are several GREEN/ purple wires in the same bunch of wires in the driver kick panel, does it matter which, how can i check them.
as for the blue/white wire for the door ajar light. it only gets activated when the key is turned to on.
also, this isnt happening all the time...it happens after my buddy takes it home and starts it the next day, which makes it even more fun for me to work with. i am considering just ripping it out at this point.

Yes it does. And finding the correct disarm wire does matter. To find the disarm wire you will put your keys in the door key cylinder and unlock the door. The correct wire will give you a negative pulse when you unlock the car to disarm.
