is there a remote start that is recomennded for this application, it is a manual also. The dealer said it would cost between 650 and 700$. does this sound right or is there one that i can install and get better range/as good. It has a 600ft range(dealer unit).

Exactly what unit is the "dealer unit", because there is no such thing from VW. posted_image

I did a Valet 562T in a 2001 last night.... it worked well.
Stick to something name brand.... Viper/DEI, Compustar, Autostart.... you'll be fine.
