Hey now.

Im not new to mobile electronics.  But am new to alarms.  I also do commercial HVAC for a living so I am not too skeered! lol

I have a 2002 ford f150 supercrew and I just purchased a Prestige aps-995.  I was looking for some tips as to where to mount the brain.  From what ive read keep it from vibrating, and to use black wireloom to make it look less obvious.

I also purchased the PATS bypass from DEI.  I got teh 555u model and im going to use an extra key.  Anyone have any suggestions for that as well?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  This place rocks like no other! posted_image

Mount the brain of the unit within 3 feet of the ignition harness ( behind the glove box or behind the radio ) The DEI bypass is very easy and self explanatory as far as installation and wires go. Just make sure that the key is seated tight in the module and that the ring is tight around the cylinder.

Question for you Jeff.

From the alarm.......where do I tie the 555u into?  It has 3 wires coming from it 12v,another wire u dont need to hook up (or so it says) and then a (-) status signal from the alarm.  There were alot of those coming from the alarm.......which one is it? I have the aps-995.

Now......1 more question.  It said install optional relay switch......alot.  Yet it only came with 1 relay.  My thoughts are that its for the other options on the alarm.  The basic stuff is controlled by onboard micro relays in the brain right? Let me know if im missing something.  I tried doing some stuff today but got too cold and fustrated (being I was cold lol)

Thanks  -TeK

The LIGHT BLUE ( Ignition 3 ) wire is the (-) while running wire that you need to connect to the 555U. The relays are for optional features that you want to include for such things as trunk release, window roll down and starter disable, etc.... you don't have to worry about these things unless you want these features.
