I've been having a problem getting my Clifford IQ6000 alarm to disarm sometimes. I can walk out in the morning (or other random times) and try to disarm it and 80% of the time it is fine. Sometimes though, it will not disarm. Here's what I've tested:

(1) If I unlock the door with the key and then open the door, the alarm will go off. If I then close the door or just jump in the car and then use the remote, it works fine to disarm it. In otherwords, it doesn't seem to have a problem receiving the disarm signal once it has gone off.

(2) I have tried using my everyday fob plus one that I never use. Neither one will disarm it when I have a problem but both work fine when everything is fine.

(3) The one variable that I would guess as being a factor would be cold weather. It seems that I have problems when the car sits for several hours in the cold. BUT I don't always have a problem in cold weather. One morning it's fine and one morning it won't disarm. The problem seems much more frequent in the winter but it has happened in the summer months too.

(4) I have read one post on a separate forum of other Clifford owners having this problem and some hinted to the fob terminals coming unsoldered and some hinted to a faulty antenna. I ruled out the fob because I find it hard to believe that I could get two to fail considering I never really used one of them. I'm not sure about the antenna.

Any suggestions on what to try or your Clifford experiences with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ry

I had that happen to me once on an old Concept 20. Remote just wouldn't do anything on cold mornings. After driving it to work, it'd arm just fine and work flawlessly for the rest of the day. Just when it was really cold outside, it wouldn't disarm.

This never happened to me in summer months however.
