Did a RS on a 03 Dakota today. When remote start it, the airbag light stays illuminated until I insert the key and turn to ignition. Turn the key off, the light comes back on. I checked all my wiring (DirectWire) and everything is correct. Should I worry about it?

Yes..there is a problem. Did you power all of the ignitions, and acc. up? If you don't power all of them the airbag light will come on. That is probably where your problem lies.

i havent done an 03 dakota in particular but i did an 04 Ram yesterday and it had 3 ignitions AND 3 accessorys!  the newer dodge/chrysler vehicles are known for that so i would say you might have left an accessory or igniton wire not powered up..and remember use diodes to isolate them!

Yes, I powered both accessory and all 3 ignition wires. I double checked to make sure they were all getting power during remote start, and they are.

My biggest question is will it cause a problem? As soon as you turn the key, it goes out. I'm assuming the wire that controls the airbag module isn't getting power from one of the listed accessory or ignition wires on DirectWire.

It could be that the ign/acc wires are not being poweRED / unpowered the correct order. Make sure that the ign are hooked to the ign and acc are hooked to the acc outputs from the alarm.

Every diagram I've seen has 3 ign. and 2 accessory. The 02 Dakota has 2 ign. and 2 accessory as you describe.
