Found this site by accident - I'm new, I'm a girl and I want to fix this myself - So...

1999 T&C security alarm is setting off - for no reason.  I've watched (listened?) for a pattern: only when it rains? When it's cold? Windy? Armed keyless? Morning/Night?

Nothing matched and I've tried it all.  All I can figure is it's the sensors.  All I know is I better do something quick (and cheap) before the neighbors kill me.

Thanks in advance for any additional info - I have a print out of  "alarm sensors/triggers" from this site.

Im assuming its not a factory security system?   If not, did you install the unit? The first thing I would want to do is read the install manual and check all the connections. Also if there are any "programable" options.....make sure they are programmed correctly. Weird things can happen to certain units say, when the battery gets change...check the condition of the battery.

When the alarm goes off, how do you stop it? Is there an LED? most alarms will blink certain number of times to tell you what zone was violated........

Good Luck young lady

Yes, sir it IS the factory installed unit... no longer covered under warranty of course

All I know is when I hear it I'm fumbling from a dead sleep most times and turn it off with my remote.

Thanks for the response - see what info I left out.

I had a problem with a customer's T&C, look at the hood switch or better yet unplug the hood switch. This thing would go off randomly unto I pulled it.
