Hello,
Can anybody help me out? I'm trying to program a Viper 300ESP so that the door lock pulses are 3.5 seconds rather than the default 0.8 seconds. I installed the alarm on a 1991 Mercedes 190E. After following the instructions several times,I still can't get into the program mode(i.e. the siren will not chirp and acknowledge) The valet button is plugged in, the door trigger wire is hooked up. After almost an hour of frustration and fiddling with the darn thing, I somehow managed to disable one of the transmitters. Now I'm afraid to even try for fear of disabling the other transmitter. Please Help!! Thanks.

ok first of all if your yellow wire coming out of the 13 pin harness is not conected to true ignition you will never get into the learning mode. You must have one door open in the car as long as the door triger is conected thats either the violet or green wire on the same 13 pin connector. If all the wires are correct the yellow connected to the ignition the dorr triggers are connected and the valet is securely loked into the brain. then the alarm should go into learn routine by turning the key to the run position then off and press the valet button the number of times for that function then use the remote to toggle through the settings either one chirp or two.Now an eay way to see if your ignition wire is connected right is to get in the car shut all doors arm the alarm now whith the key put the key in the on position but dont crank the motor. If the alarm goes off at that point you have an ignition wire conected .bottom line i would make sure your yellow wire is connected to true ignition chek all door trigger wires then chek the valet to make sure it is plugged in . good luk anything else i can help you with just ask.

ok one other thing that is feature number 6 in the main menu the only menu in that alarm so heres what you do turn the key on then off whille the door is open. Then you will press the valet switch 6 times then you will hold it in untill you hear 6 chirps then you will press channel 2 on your remote and thats it your done. good luck.

ok, i checked to see that the yellow wire is connected to true ignition by arming the car with the doors shut and then turning the key to ON. It set the alarm off. That checked out. I double checked that my green wire is connected to the door trigger. When I arm the car and open the door, the alarm goes off. That also checked out. I still cannot program the alarm. It will not chirp at all. Also, do you know anything about why one of my transmitters don't work? It's a brand new alarm. If you can help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

ok well sometimes when you play with those remotes i have seen them lose the code so what you will have to do is try to reprogram that remote to the alarm.im looking in my book now to see why thats not working you kinda got me here.Thats all i do is vipers so if anyone can help i will try my best.Wait is all your doors seing that triger make sure that the door that sets the alarm off is open.another thing you can try is to make sure that valet switch works try to put it in valet mode see if that works if not there may be a problem with the switch.get back i will look now to see whaTS THE PROBLEM.

Wow, what a dilemna. Thanks for helping me out. I can get into Valet mode with the valet switch, no problem. It's just not wanting to get into program mode, for some odd reason. I don't understand, now you can understand my frustration.

Ok here goes try this when you get a chance open a door press button one then two then one again see if that gets you into valet mode if not check your triggers cause we cheke dit with the key.So we know you have an ignition wire conected otherwise you would not be able to get in valet mode with the key . we also know the switch works .now try this and see what happens the only thing it can be is your door triggers try what i said see what happens. Some vipers can have programming turned off by a bitwriter i dont think this one can though so if nothing else works after what i said assume its the alarm.

Ok, listen to this: I was able to get into Valet mode using the remote 1-2-1. I tried to get into program mode once more by opening the door, turning the key ON then off, pressing the valet button 6 times and holding it on the 7th. The Siren responded by chirping 6 times, yes 6 times so I pushed 2 on my remote and the siren responded by giving me two rings(not the regular chirp). As soon as I let go of the Valet button, it gave me two more rings. And now I have somehow again disabled the 2nd remote. I'm out of options now. Both transmitters don't work. What do you think?

ok you were in the progran mode you should have done it. When you let go of the valet switch it exited which is n ormal.I think its programed now all u got to do is try reprograming both remotes now and you should be ok .Read carefully the fact that this remote can handle more than one car. this is not the first car that did this to me as far as the remotes losing programs. so go with trying to reprogram the remote hope it works i meen u seem to have made some progress . At least you got in programing mode. GEt back

No Luck. And now I think that car is posessed. The power door locks don't want to work, the Car wouldn't start, the CD player spit out it's CD, the windshield wiper started to move. Somehow I think the battery got drained, but I'm absolutely positive I didn't leave anything on. Anyway, like I said, no luck on re-programming the transmitters. What can I do to get a new brain and transmitters?

thats a little tough . well i dont know where you bought it at but if they will send the unit out through warranty you may be able to do it. Viper is verry tough with there policies you must be a dealer to sell them and a dealer to get them fixed you need some dealer to send that alarm out for you is what you need to do.i am assuming you wired something extremely wrong or its a bad brain but either way try and get it sent out under warranty through the shop that sold it or somebody cool you may know .good luck
