Is anyone familiar with the factory keyless wiring on a 03 Subaru Outback. I have a person that wants to keep the existing remote and use an add-on DEI starter. I've looked at it a little and the keyless remote is disabled when the engine is running. Does anyone know how to get around this and wire it so the keyless remote will still function while the engine is running. That way they can unlock the vehicle with the remote after it has started. They don't want a combo unit which would be so much easier. I also found a pricy add-on integrated unit made especially for Subarus by Omega so it must be possible.

i never understood why people choose the half ass way to do things. like wanting to keep the factory keyless system to operate an aftermarket remote start. There always looking to pinch a penny, meanwhile there driving around in a 20K+ dollar vehicle.

Well I found the keyless entry module behind the glovebox and snipped 2 wires. Keysense and Ignition inputs. Now the keyless entry works fine while remote started and the remote starter can be shutdown by remote if need be.
