I am in the UK and I am looking for a source for door release solenoids.

What I want to do is basically remove the door lock barrel and on disarming the alarm, the door will actually "pop open" under a spring force.

Does such a device exist???

Door poppers and door release solenoids ( much like the trunk release solenoids ) are what you are looking for. The door poppers are about $ 30 each door and the solenoids are abuot $ 40 each door. These can be incorporated into any existing alarm system that has a (-) disarm wire or 2 AUX wires.

I did a little something different to my truck. I hooked up the solenoid directly to the door latch and took the door hinges off so that way when you activate the solenoid it opens the door automatically and effortlessly.posted_image

There are numerous manufacturer's of these systems, but they are mainly a generic brand. Auto-Loc makes kits ( they are expensive ) and I think the generic ones are just the same. The solenoids are supposed to attach to the hinge that opens the door latch and then you purchase door poppers for the doors that need to be completely popped open ( shaved door handles ).
