OK, here's a good one.
2002 Neon Standard.
Autostart AS2360TW
unit will initiate ready mode, but when you hit lock the remote beeps 4 times indicating exiting ready mode.
Now, in trouble shooting I've tryed operating the park brake and door inputs manually (grounding and pulsing door) and same results. I've disconnected brake input and hood pin input.
I've swapped to a different model of autostart (AS1785sh) and get 4 flashes on shutdown (brake?).
Installed a 2300TW (automatic) and the unit works 100% for start and stop.
UNsure where else to look.

could you be having a issue with the door locks feeding back into the brain? Its kinda a long shot but you seemed to have checked every thing else. Mabye try unpluging the locks and see if that changes anything

Have you replaced that. The only reason why I am suspect of this is because you said that the unit starts acting up when you hit the lock button. If there was a short or feedback problem somewhere it really is an unknowen as to how the brain is going to react and what shutdown diagonstics its going to display. You have been at this along time so I assume you already did the basics such as check wire routing and make sure none of the wires are exposed or damaged and grounding out on anything. From the first post it looks like you covered everything conventional so now you gotta look at strange and off the wall. Also is the remote faulty and transmitting a signal when the button isint pressed? Just a couple of Idea's, Im reaching but its all I got.

It takes over fine, and you can exit fine, and put it into ready mode no problem? When you lock it, it knocks it out of ready mode..... is this what is happening?

it almost seems like the lock circuit is somehow pulsing the door pin circuit... is it possible a rearm wire might be activating the door pin/OEM security wire, taking it out of ready mode.... did you hook up rearm to shut down a RAP circuit or anything? ------------- Kevin Gerry

What did you use for door trigger?

tan/black and blue/orange
door trigger was eliminated as a possible cause, as was parkbrake, hood pin and brake.
even if I manually do the parkbrake and door trigger (ground pb input and pulse door input) I get the same result. Only thing I didn't do was unplug the chdl3pk to test for feedback through there.
cars in tomorrow, will post results.
