Hi I'm installing a remote start on a 2003 Jetta TDI. Viper 791XV. I have a couple of questions and would really appreciate some help. The alarm/keyless portion of it is already installed.
1. I don't completely understand the door wiring; when I open a door beside the driver, the alarm doesn't go off.
2. How do I install the remote window up/down? I know it can be done with a constant pulse? Should I just use a relay on the alarm?
3. Are there any big deals with remote start on this car? Most of the wires are in, I'm not sure if all the wires were connected in the ignition harness? I didn't install the alarm orginally.

Any help would be awesome, Thanks!

You Cannot do the windows with just a relay..........Its not a Lexus.

As far as the door trigger goes, there a 2 diff . types. A 2 connectoer alarm, and a 3.

VW's SUCK big............. If you have an aftermarket alarm allready in the car your asking for trouble. Yank it and start from scratch. Get a remote start and alarm combo..............Or just a plain old remote start!

you have to use a timer module or use the 4th chanel and 5th chanel from the alarm to control windows

The comfort module is under the driver side dash, to the left of the steering column. the wire is BROWN / yellow there is a problem when the remote start turn off dome light came on, so you have to go to each door and diode each pin so you will not back feed from dome light.

Use the 2 extra Zux channels of the 791 for your windows.. program them for validity, and tie into the door locks. What you are doing is duplicating the function of using the key in the driver's door. Unlock is a short pulse, but if you hold the key in unlock, the windows roll down. Same goes for lock.

You need to head into each door for door triggers... BROWN / white at the courtesy light in each door. Diode isolate.

Unlock before start, use the -ve starter output of the 791 to relock when it cranks and you will not have factory security issues.

All of this can be wired at the brain... only need to pull 4 wires into the door: Locks, trunk release, and doorpin.
