I am having trouble finding the door lock/unlock wires specific to a 2001 tacoma double cab. 12volt's wiring diagram shows 3 wires to be found in drivers kick panel. blu/red, grey, and purple. I found all three and all lead into the door's wire bundle. However, the purple wire is on a seperate (but adjacent) harness from the other two. FYI - every other diagram I found for this year from other sources told me to find a RED / yellow and a RED / white wire. There is no RED / white wire, but there is a RED / yellow in the same kick panel harness. ???????????????
i have gray and purple in a 22 pin plug on the front of the fuse box according to DEI tech. the easiest way to test for neg. trigger door locks is to use a regular test light that will trigger the lock wires when you find them. And im sure im going to get alot of feedback from people saying not to use a regular test light, but ive never had any problems..........
and if you are probing for these wires with a meter,or computer safe test light, you have to either test for them with the doors closed, or use the passanger door key cylinder to test for the wires.
