I have an Ungo s100 alarm system. I want to use the keyless remote to turn on the radio for ten minutes so I don’t forget about it and run the battery down when I’m outside. In order to do this I can use one of the two outputs on the alarm system to provide a momentary pulse to the retained accessory power (R.A.P.) feature on my car (2001 Camaro z28). The R.A.P. feature provides power to the accessories (radio and windows only) for ten minutes after the key is turned off (from the engine ON position only) or until one of the doors is opened. This feature is controlled internally by the Body Control Module (BCM). According the diagram I found for the BCM there is a R.A.P. wire on the BCM, but whether it is + or -, I don't know. It is also on the passenger’s side of the car. Rather than run wire from driver’s side of the car to the other, I think it would be easier to use one the wires coming from the ignition, since I can turn it on and then off again to enable the R.A.P. I could put a relay on one of the wires from the ignition to provide a momentary pulse to the BCM. My problem is I don't know which wire to use. Is there a R.A.P. wire coming from the ignition, or do I just put power to the ignition ON wire? I don't think I can use the accessory wire since I can't enable the feature used the accessory position of the ignition (farthest back position on my car). It has to be a circuit that is only closed when the ignition is in the ON position. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Keith

Try jumping power from the Red +12v constant wire in the Ignition harness to the Pink ignition wire. Do this with the door closed of coarse. If the radio comes on and stays on when you disconnect it then wire a relay as follows:

85) Connect to fused +12v constant (Red)

87) Connect to fused +12v constant (Red)

86) Connect to (-) alarm channel to activate

30) Connect to the ignition (Pink) wire to turn it on

Use the diagram below as a reference substituting the Pink Ignition wire for "Parking Lamp Wire"
