A word of thanks to the Forum.  I came aboard when the installer of a remote start on my van was having difficulty configuring it, and managed with the advice of 12Volt members to solve the problem myself (cold start issue).

I went on to pick up a Rattler remote starter on ebay and install it myself on my '91 Dakota.  Armed with knowledge from the12Volt and links that I followed, I methodically went about with my trusty digital meter and sourced wires to make the install.  I did a workmanlike job; all connections soldered and taped, all safety items in place.  A few problems came up (Rattler needs an additional wire for "neutral safety"--- my truck won't start in a gear with or without the Rattler, so that had to be run to ground)... I deduced my problems, re-programmed a number of items, and Voila! -- It works fine.

Many thanks to the12Volt !!!!  :o)
