It's a 1WAM-s. I am getting tired of hearing the horn honk all the time, thinking of disconecting the horn wire. Is there anyway to program the thing to beep only when I lock the door? I do not want to hear the thing everytime I unlock the doors and trunk, as well as activate the remote start.
I was thinking of wiring the horn so it powers off of the door lock pulse/relay, after I disconect the wire from the brain to the horn, if I can not program the unit to do what I want. Can I do this? the car is an 02 Cavalier

Cut the wire off the HORN output of the 1WAMS and attach the side that is attached to the horn to pin 30 of a SPDT relay. 87 will go to ground and 86 you will need to split a wire off the BLUE/BLACK wire of the 1WAMS ( one to lock output and the other to this pin ) and then 85 will go to 12 volts constant. 87a will not be used.

Thanks for the input, the horn function is driving me nuts.

No problemo posted_image I never use the horn function on any of these units. Customer's never even ask for horn confirmation around here, the lights are a good enough indication for lock/unlocking.
