I am installing a 552T Remote starter/ keyless enty in a 1992 oldsmoblie cutlass ciera and have a few questions.

Horn Honk Output

The unit will give out a (-) 200mA output.
I will test the horn wire before hand to see what its giving out. I have 2 different wiring charts, one says the output for the horn is (-), and another one says it is (+). If the horn is (-), no relay is needed, correct? If it is positive i need to hook a relay like this. 85 = horn wire from valet unit, 86 & 87 = 12v fused, 30 = horn wire in car. What amp fuse would I use, 10amp?

Trunk release

The unit will give out a (-) 200mA output. A relay would be needed either way according to the manual. relay would be set up like this. 85 = wire from unit, 86 = fused 12v, 30 = trunk release wire, 87 = (+) 12v if (+) switched or (-) ground if (-) switched. Is that correct? also what amp fuse?

Last one is the door locks

the unit has 2 wires for the locks, 1 wire will give off (-) lock & (+) unlock output, while the other will give off (-) unlock & (+) lock output.

my wiring chart says the doors are a postive pulse door lock system. Do i need relays or do i just hook the postive unlock wire to the unlock wire, and the postive lock wire to the lock wire? will the unit drive those or do i need a relay since they are postive?

Sorry for all the questions i just want to make sure its right and not burn something up.

Thanks

the horn is (-) so wire it up for (-). its up to you if you want to use the brown wire and go right to the hornk honk wire in the car. id use a relay for extra minute of prewire work itll take. its basicaly the right way to do it. take the -200ma trigger to 85, take 86 to 12v +, 87 to ground, and 30 to the cars horn honk wire.

for the trunk youll need a + output. take the RED / white -200ma to 85, take 86 and 87 to 12v +, and take 87 to the vehicles trunk release wire at the switch.

on both applications the fuse can be 1 to 5 amp, whatever you have. its basically to protect the brain and the 12v source you are using from a direct short to ground. theres really minimal amperage involved.

im not sure if a 552t will do (+) with out relays. try taking blue to the lock wire and green to the unlock wire and see if it works. in the best interest, if the brain came with a 451m take a minute to wire that up. its basically a souped up switch for the locks. take PURPLE / black to 12v +, cap off WHITE/ black and BROWN / black, then use blue/black as if it were the smaller (+) blue lock wire and the GREEN/ black as if it were the smaller (+) unlock wire. plug the GREEN/ RED / blue ribbon harness to the lock port on the brain.

Is this 451m needed, it says in the manual no other parts required , unless its a c type lock setup. Your a certified installer so i know you know what your talking about.

You know where i can pick one of these up?

a 451m is two relays in one. it saves you some prewire work. its ment to be used on type c and f, one wire with resistances and what not. generally you dont have to use it on regular (+) and (-) setups. however, it is purely up to you if you want to use it. instead of the brain providing the 12v+ to operate the locks, the 451m uses whatever 12v+ source you wire it to (like the ignition harness) to power the locks. the 451m just gets the signal to activate from the brain. it basically takes some work off the brain.

its your choice. ive only seen one ford contour (positive triggers)not work with just the lock outputs from the brain. i wired up a 451m real quick and the locks functioned fine.
