Is it my imagination....or does there seem to be A LOT of posts reguarding problems with clifford equipment. Is it NOT installer friendly ? I have never installed anything "clifford" Just wondering, do they need to simplify the install, or programming, or are there actually that many problems with the units themselves?? AND....will this post be allowed to stay up on the site? -------------

at the shop which I have been installing at for the past while we have had alot of issues with the clifford units. nothing install related because they are pretty simple to install. the issues are with range. basically they have none at all. we have had almost every customer come back and complain that the have no range at all. theres a rumor that it is something internal with the actual antenna but who knows. as of yet they(DEI) have not formally said anything to us yet so who knows.

1. Clifford units are very installer/user friendly. I've been installing clifford for the past three years and never had any repeated problems. 2 As for the range goes...if you bundle the antenna wire up and shove it somewhere you're going to have range issues. I'm not saying this is what you do but this seems to be the problem in a lot of people's installs on this board. You should take the extra slack and put it in the head liner or the a-pillar, and see if that works for you. ------------- ~The Rookie~

Interesting comments about Clifford. Over here in UK you cannot buy Clifford products off the shelf. They need to be installed by a qualiified clifford trained technician. I think most of the problems come down to fitting error. If fitting alarms was so easy then eveyone would do it, and no one would make a living out of it !!!!!! Would do you guys rekkon?

All of the DEI product (major name , viper clifford) are supposed to be sold and installed by "authorized" dealers only....makes me wonder...whos bustin all the rules???

the older clifford models thats not related to the DEI diagram is very hard to install. i notice theres not a consistent color code diagram like other makers.
btw, some of the G4 cliffords seems to follow the DEi color code, but still not nice.
its not hard to install, its not organized diagram. yes, this will frustrated the heck out of you if youre familiar w/ teh mess. so its very time consuming w/ one of those older clifford models.
the older clifford alarm are pretty terrible, i think. i just hope DEi will continue to improve it, especially on the new advantguard w/ SS theyre comin out.
