How does the range of the 996c compare to the Viper 791?  I have not heard any complaints about the quality of their equipment either.

The range on both are outstanding, but the DEI seems to have a little longer range than the prestige. I personally have the 791XV an I installed a 996 in my girls car. I have never had a problem with either of tham and found both to be great units. The one thing is that the 996 has a few more options such as a countdown timer for the remote start, temperature sensor, time/date stamp ect.. The viper does not come with these types of options. But all in all they are both good units!

Thanks for the great info!  Which "version" of the 996 did you install?  Was it the A, B, or C?
