Im getting ready to install an Ultra Start 4500 this weekend, and have a few questions I need cleared up first...

Where are all the options of hooking up the tach wire.. Ive read that you can put it into a fuel injector, but where else?

Also, when I look at the ignition, there are 2 green and white striped wires, going to a small orange / YELLOW box right by where you actually insert the key... Is this part of the locking mech.??

Finally, on the backside of the ignition there are the following wires- Some are labled, some arent...

PLEASE FILL IN THE QUESTIONS MARKS

Solid Blue - Acc - ????Accesory Wire????
Black W/ Red Stripe - R - ????
Solid Black - no label - ?????
Black W/ Yellow Stripe - no label - ?????
Black W/ White Stripe - ST - ?????

I need to connect wires to the Starter Wire, Accessory Wire, and the Primary Ignition

Use a digital multimeter to test your wire if you are not sure.

alright thanks alot....

So what exactly is a "SECOND STARTER"

SECOND STARTER

Also known as the cold start wire. As with the starter wire, it changes state only when the key switch is held in the start position, but is not connected to the starter motor. Interrupting this wire will not prevent the starter motor from spinning. This wire needs to be activated only when adding a remote start, and must be activated only while the vehicle is starting.

alright, well when I unplug the harness about a foot behind the ignition, its a six pin connector... On the side closest to the steeringwheel/ignition there are 5 wires going in... and on the other connector there are 4 wires coming out, the wire that is not there/missing is this "second starter" one.. Should I still splice the alarm into it??

On my alarm brain it has a jumper, and you select from a secon acc. second starter, or something else....

Can anybody help clear this up for me...

What are my other options for the tach source? I tried the BLACK/ red wire at the coils, but it doesnt see, to be reading it....

Alright, I got it all hooked up...

the BLACK/ red wire coming of the coils is actually just a ground....

I ended up taking out my cluster, and finding which wire went to the tach, and that did the trick....
