is it true that the COMPUSTAR 2WFM8000AS has a feature that arm and disarm the vehicle automaticly within the range of 50ft? i saw a listing of the unit on ebay and that's what they put on under prescription. if it does have such of feature, do the 2w900fm-as has it?

Man, what timing. I literally just walked in and checked out the forum after playing with this feature on my remote! I just had this alarm installed today (2W8000FMR), and it does have the auto arm/disarm feature within 50 to 100 feet.
I activated the "Auto Arming" function on the remote, walked away from my car and the alarm turned on when I got about 60-70 feet away from the vehicle. Walk back and it shuts off automatically. As long as you're not worried about your car when it's in close proximity, it seems like a good feature...

It's a pain in the butt sometimes to have this feature activated if your never more than 100 ft away cause you can't arm the vehicle. Good if you are more than 100 ft away though.

yeah, i just think it's a cool feature for those who needs it. it's like having those really expensive car which lock/unlock the car without having to even touch the key.

Great feature if you live in an apartment building. If you live in a house your car doors are going to be open all the time. For the consumer to enjoy this feature they need to shorten the distance to about 10 ft. with more quicker respone time of unlocking the doors when you are near your car. ------------- Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.
