We recently started having a series of problems with our truck (ford 250 2002 CrewCab Lariat). Every time we hit the brakes, the automatic door locks engage. When we leave the headlights on the automatic setting the headlights go out.  Last night the actuator for the doorlocks stopped working and the signal for an open door would not go off.  In addition, even though the truck was shut off, the radio won't shut off.  Anyone have any ideas?

Is your truck "stock".....?

Any aftermarket electronis installed? besides a radio?

If so....who did the install? If it was a shop.....they need to be advised of all the problems.  If you did it your self, pull it out and start over, sound like a pontetial for some REAL problems

We bought the truck used a year ago. It's a diesel and the only thing we changed was to add a super chip to increase power and efficiency.  That was put in last April and the problems we are having  just started in January so we werent thinking it could be that.  Is that a possibility?   Other than that we changed the radio last July but nothing else.

Someone has suggested that the ground could be a problem. It seems like crossed wires or a disconnect somewhere, but we really don't know where to start.  A friend said we should take it to a Ford dealership, but I'm not sure that they have the expertise to figure it out.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Nancy

You might want to try and find a "friendly" 12 volt shop.....some one who will work honestly, and not charge you an arm and a leg for their services. Maybe mention your posts on the 12volt....maybe on your next post....ask if anyone in your area can look at your rig??

Your having a LOT of problems that SHOULD NOT be related....I would say that the dealership would kinda be your last option.. Your rite, if its not in a book or on a computer, the techs won't have a clue.

I wish I could help....

We live in the Orlando area.  Does anyone know of a good shop somewhere in the Central Florida or Tampaarea?  We really appreciate all of your help.  Thank you.
