I had an Alpine Sec-8028 professionally installed a while back. A few days ago when I went to disarm my alarm my headlights and the unarm beep didn't go off, the minute I opened the door the alarm went off, so I pressed the disarm button and the siren turned off.

So I am sitting in my car wondering whats wrong, I press the arm/disarm button and nothing, I can hear the clicking noise on the brain of the alarm but no illumination no beep.

I opened the door, and once again the alarm went off, and once again I press the unarm/arm button of my remote. It got so annnoying when the alarm went off with me opening the door that I disconnected the harness to the brain so that it would stop.

I went and got the manual for the alarm to see how I can reset up the alarm, when I plug the harness back in the alarm would go off.

Am I screwed? Does anyone know how I can fix this problem without going to an alarm place?? would it be easy to fix, since all the wirings already hooked?    By the way thanks for reading this long post and thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

it's in valet.

hit the valet button on the remote or turn the ignition on then hit the valet switch under the dash.

thanks alot sexified for the help. I was messing around with the valet button and for some reason my alarm is working like usual again??? It's kinda wierd, I was following the instructions in how to set up the alarm with the alpine manual but the alarm was not doing what it was suppose to. THen for some odd reason, I press the valet button when the ignition was off and VOILA the alarm started to react with the remote again.

My question now is this. I remember one day when my passenger side headlight wasn't working and at the same time my highbeam indicator was slightly lit, barely noticeable, but I noticed it (this was the same time that I noticed my passenger side headlight was out, as so I thought).

The next day, my headlight was working fine and the highbeam indicator did not have that slight illumination. So I thought all was dandy, but then the alarm didn't work, not it does from pure luck of messing around with the alarm.

What's going on here? I feel as if everything is connected somehow. Is there some electrical problems going on here? How can I pinpoint this problem????? HELP?????
