ok - I'm still trying to figure out how this works and what wire I'm looking for on my 89 Celica GTS to hook the 500ma - horn output wire to on my RS system to.
So, I have a little wire in my steering wheel that when grounded blows the horn.
I've read that there's a metal ring behind the steering wheel that's connected to that little green wire - so when you ground that ring - the horn also blows.
Now, - my question is this. I only have 3 wires that connect to that copper ring. None are the colors I've been reading (green or GREEN/ blue).
So - I'm gonna check with my trusty DMM but what am I looking for exactly? - Is this wire going to read +12v??? - What's it suppose to do when I blow the horn? - And this is the wire I'm suppose to hook the 500ma - output directly to?

Please help me. - This is my last wire and I'm confused. :(

Not sure why you are at the Horn ring..............
The wire you are looking for is in harness on steering column.......It will show Negative when you press horn button.
Yes, U can hook wire from RS unit to Horn wire, but I have seen some need a Relay to supply a stronger ground.

thanks for your time mo12v.

I was looking for a wire running along the bottom
of the steering shaft housing. - all of the wires
plug into a harness at the end of the shaft before
entering the firewall. - Are you saying the wire can
be found on the other side of that connector?
??? - Is that correct?
Wouldn't there have to be a wire that carries the ground from the steering wheel to this harness?
That's why I'm at the horn ring 'cause I'm looking for the wire that takes the ground from the steering wheel and runs down the column and there's no GREEN/ blue - there's only a solid greenish blue and a thin guage green wire but both show ground with no horn pressed.

???

Thanks again MO

Horn Trigger green    -   steering column

If you don't find the green wire then you are not looking in the right spot. This is when a good safe test is so useful.

Yes, you can hook the horn wire directly to the green wire once you find it.

So with no horn pressed this wire shouldn't register as anything right? - Only negative when the horn's pressed - right?

Thanks folks. - Truly appreciate it.

Yes & NO.....It could read 2 - 12 Volts or Nothing..........with NO horn pressed

Use OHM Meter and Meter the wire you find (below steering column, coming out of steering column)....Press Horn.....Check reading.

Got it guys! - Thanks.

The horn wire on my 1989 Toyota Celica GTS is GREEN/ pink.

Now if I can only get the remote start to work.
I think the tach wire might be wrong.

Thanks again!
