i am not sure what the brain model is =) I just know my remote says 2W8000FMR (3000)

I would like to change the crank time, as my car does not autostart when cold, i guess cranking not long enough.

Thanks

Also another question, My antenna was mounted in the middle of the windshield ontop, but the manual suggestions left corner, will this have any effect on the range?

Thanks

Another problem i am having is, when hit the Autostart button, and the car doesn't crank over, the remote will show the car as cranked.(started) Does compustar not attempt a 2nd or 3rd time at cranking the car?

Not that I am aware of, but I am sure that design engineer at Compustar must have done a million test on the placement of the antenna to indicate that the top corner will have the best result.    Personally, place it horizontally anywhere on the windshield that the antenna is not being interfere with is good enough. If you are worry about transmitting distance, I wouldn’t worry much about it. The gain is minimal if any from your current antenna position to what the good book recommend.

"Also, what does PASSIVE arming and VALET modes do?"

When set to passive arming, your security system will arm automatically 30 seconds after all the car doors are closed.

VALET mode is a function that deactivate the remote starter and the alarm. Only your Keyless function will still work. In four words, it's a safty switch.

Thanks guys!

Problem is, the alarm was installed by a "pro" and i have gone back to him with these problems, and he does not know what is wrong.

So, how do i check if the tach has been learned? If not, how do i do it?

Thanks again

Hi Guys,

I have followed the instructions exactly for changing the crank time.

Hold button I + II for 2 seconds (i get a chirp)

Then press button IV 3times (i get 3 chirps)

Then i press button II (the siren goes off 3times)

So instead of chirping 2 times if confirmed, the siren goes off.

So what am i doing wrong?

you need to

Hold Buttons I + II for 2 seconds (get a chirp)

within 2 seconds press IV 3 times (get 3 chirps)

wait a few seconds and the car will chirp 3 more times, saying that you are infact in the 3rd option

then press button II (chirp 2 times)

Then your done

This will not solve your problem by programming this option unless the installer hooked up the tach wire to the alternator wire. If he hooked it up to the tach wire, then all you have to do is start the vehicle, wait for it to reach the lowest RPM while idling and then press the tach program button on the side of the CM3000 CPU. The lights will flash once to confirm a properly learned tach and it will chirp/flash lights 3 times if it's got the wrong tach signal.

So what you are saying is, to confirm if my tach wire is connected correctly, i need to startup my car, wait till it idles normally, and press the tach button on the CPU. If it flashes once, then it's confirmed that it is working correctly, if not, then it is not properly connected?

Thanks

BTW: You wouldn't be the same velocity motors in B.C are you?

The tach wire ( GREEN ) is lcoated at the ECM (Engine Control Module) below the glove box in a 35 pin plug located at pin #10. The tach wire is also found behind the instrument cluster in the middle plug. On the turbo models, the tach wire is in the 34 pin plug, pin 23.
