trying to find tach wire on 89 cavalier

i wanted to install a remote started on a 89 cavalier z24 2.8 v6 but the tach wire is on the coil module on the front of the engine is there a easier place i can get tach output for alarm

Try white at distributor.

Or the fuel injector wire, Im not sure if that year is fuel injected or throttle body. I would say listen to boomer first and if that doesent work let us know!

it doesnt have a distributor it is fuel injected it has a coil and module mounted on the front lower part of the engine i was wondering is there a easier way to get a tach signal without going this route

Use a fuel injector.

On the top of all the injectors you will see two wires. All the injectors share 1 wire that has the same color, and the other wire is differnt in color on all the injectors. Tap into the odd wire on any 1 injector. This usally is a good tach source on most cars. Let me know how you make out!!!

Just because it's fuel injected doesn't mean it doesn't have a distributor. If you find that the fuel injector route is easier and works then by all means go for it. If it's not working for you I would take a look for the distributor option.
