Yea, I have a 1993 Chev Astro Van and it has a Code
Alarm System with a add on Code Alarm Remote Starter. My problem is that when the van is shut off and the key removed the parking lights stay on. It does not matter if the alarm is set or not. I have and did remove a 10 amp inline fuse coming off the moudles. The lights go off now.  Everything seems to still be working ok, except the parking lights do not come on when the van is started with the remote start. My question is does anyone know of this problem and what needs to be done to repair it? Does the remote starter module need replacing, does the alarm module need to be replaced, does both of them need to be replaced or could it be a problem in the wiring of van. Please reply @ dougsden@wideopenwest.com                Thank you for any information on this.

Sounds like brain has a bad parking ligh output.   Or.........the parking light wire is coming incontact with a 12v source.      I dont think that van has "auto lamps" or whatever GM calls it.    What I mean by that is the headlights delay shut off for a given time.    If it does have that option there will be a switch next to the headlight switch to turn that option off.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info JoshV. No it does not have the automatic headlight feature. I was also thinking it is a bad module. But not sure if it would be the alarm modul or the remote start. Thanks again

well heres a ? for ya,  what buttons on the remote do you have to hit to remote start you van?    This will tell us what the primary module is.   or atleast give us a better idea.   With that info then I could make an educated guess on which module is the problem.

I have the two button remotes, and I have to push and hold the arm button for a couple seconds for the remote start to engage.
