please help.  please read tot he end, the alram is giving me 2 problems. thank you guys for your time

i have the sidewinder 6500esp alarm.  it has the 4 button remote and the remote start. it is installed in a 1996 grand cherokee

what happens is for a while now the siren of the alarm sounds when it feels like it, most of the time just the lights and stuff would flash to indicate the alarm was going off. once in a while the siren would go off too.

i did have the person who put the alarm in install airhorns in addition to the siren with a relay.

everything worked fine for a year / then the problem with the siren not working properly began.

now , like 2 days ago the sire and alarm just start going off on their own. i know no one hit it because it hapened in front of my face.

the alarm will go off for like 15-30 seconds then shut off, then like 3-5minutes later it would happen again. please help. :(

I would begin by checking all wiring connections, solder joints if any...checking for cold solders, and I would especially check the grounding of the alarm and the siren. let me know.

Usually, DEI products have a diagnostics flash back to tell you what the problem is or what sensor was triggered. Did you do a disgnostics on the system ?

check the ground first, maybe is the battery or hood pin. or check the diagnostic as velocity motors said
