I'm installing an Autopage 855 LCD in my Ford Ranger.  I have the factory keyless entry and need to tap into the factory disarm wire.  The diagram I have say it is in the driver kick panel, but it isn't there.  Could it be in the GEM?  Thanks!

*edit*  I don't think I have a factory alarm, just the keyless entry and starter disable.  That being the case, I wouldn't have the factore disarm wire, right?

Right the disarm wire would only be there if it  has an alarm that will go  off by opening a door while locked.

So the alarm brain will ahndle the locking/unlocking duties, as well as overriding the starter disable, right?  I only need to hook up the door trigger and power lock/unlock functions then.

If doing remote start you will still have to use a module to disarm factory imobilizer if the truck has it.

I'm using a 556u for that.  That's what you're talking about, right?

howabout this....let's get this started the right way by telling us what year your ford ranger is. as an alternative you can also try the following tests....

one really easy way for you to tell whether or not you have a factory alarm is to lock your doors using the keyless entry remote (with you sitting inside your truck), wait for about a minute or so, then try starting your car with the key. also try opening your door. if no noise is made, then you don't have a factory alarm.

as for the immobilizer bypass, try finding the appropriate wires to hot-wire start your truck. if it starts without you needing a key in the ignition tumbler, then you do not have a factory immobilizer.
