Hey Guys,
Well I've recently installed the Rattler 369D and went to test the system for the first time today. Well the moment I completed all the connections to the unit (the last harness being the one with the ignition, starter, and constant 12V wires) the unit immediately began to crank the car continuosly without my having commanded the unit to do so. Interestingly however the car never actually turned over but just continued to try to start. Incidentally my car has 2 starter wires and I have setup a relay for the 2nd starter wire as follows: 85 to ground, 87 to 12V fused, 30 to second starter wire, 86 to 1st starter wire and starter output from the remote start unit.

85 and 86 is the coil side of the relay. It is just used to energize the relay. Have a look at the relay page. The links at left are good. Here is the one for relays. https://www.the12volt.com/relays/relays.asp

Thanks for your help. As far as the relay goes, that is exactly how I have it wired, so it's setup correctly but the unit still tries to crank right away without my consent. I don't know why it's doing this. Any ideas?

I had one do the same thing on me. It turned out to be a bad ground. Regrounded it and it worked fine.

Thanks for everybodys help so far. Well, I've checked the ground (as well as all the other connections) and everything seems fine. But yet the moment i connect the unit to the harness with the power and ignition cables it tries to crank. Interestingly I noticed it does this regardless if the harness containing the ground wire is connected or not (the ground wire is on a separate harness from the 12V/ignition/starter wires). Any other suggestions?

Seems you have a strange one there. You say it never actually turned over but just continued to try to start. So what does it do then? I guess you could check and see if the output from the brain is outputting all the time. Maybe a bad brain?????

do you have the white and blue wire in your primary harness grounded for any reason. That would trigger the brain to start. Other wise........did you install the toggle switch? If not the black and white wire needs to be grounded as well. Also what type of car is this and where is your grounding point?
