I have a Ford Powercode system installed in my 05 F250. I was able to get it done in large part because of the help on this site! You folks are much appreciated!
Overall, I am very pleased with the system. That being said, I have a slight problem. I programmed the unit as per the tech manual, and the truck starts just fine when already warm. However, when it is ice cold (morning), it turns for about 0.5 seconds, then stalls. The tuck has a standard key and ignition, with no passkey or anything like that. Do you folks have any hints about what's going on for me?? Thanks so much!
did you run a tach wire? if not thats likey to be your problem. if not, check the battery voltage while cranking when it's cold. how low does it drop? 9-10 volts? that should be ok, any lower and most systems "forget" whats going on and just stop operation. try that and if you still have problems check back. i still have more solutions.

I ran a tach wire to the crankshaft sensor wire (thanks to NowYaKnow). Sends a decent ac (pulsed dc) signal with the engine ruming. The brain is learning the signal fine when warm. I called 800FORDKEY with the problem and they suggested re-teaching the tach at a slightly higher RPM. Tried that, and it seemed to work when I programmed it at about 950RPM or so, alhough the air temp had warmed to the low 40's by the time I did this. I'll let you know tomorrow. Thanks!
